Since 1993, Hainan Yangpu Land Development Co., Ltd.has invested more than HK$4.7 billion in infrastructure projects. Adding investment by government authorities in the harbour, industry, real estate and other public installations, the total investment in Yangpu Economic Development Zone has reached RMB6.8billion.

Harbour

　　Yangpu has a natural harbour that has been enhanced with the construction of deep-water berths by the Ministry of Transportation .The fish stage was completed in 1991 with the opening of two 20,000-tonne berths and one 3,000-tonne working vessel berth with an annual capacity of 1 million tones. The second stage include three 35,000-tonne berths, which added 1.5 million tonnes capacity at the cost of RMB780 million and opened in 2002 .Yangpu has the only standardized container terminal in Hainan.

Roads

　　The original 26.85km classB road that connects Yangpu with the West Freeway and Hainan's capital Haikou has been upgraded to a class A road at the cost of RMB150 million. It only takes 80 minutes driving to Haikou.





Railways

　　The Hainan rail network, which starts in Sanya, now ends in Danzhou, southeast of Yangpu. Yangpu is linked by rail with the Mainland with the complete of the Yuehai railway, which connects Hainan with the Mainland via a train ferry across Qiongzhou Strait.





Air Transport

　　The distance between Yangpu and Meilan International Airport in Haikou is 145km.







Telecommunication

　　Telecommunication and postal services are available in the zone .A microwave and fibre -optic communication network has been installed, allowing for a switch -system for directdial phones that can reach more than 150 countries and areas and a paging system.














Water supply

　　 Traditionally, underground water was the major source of water supply. A system with a daily output of 30,000 tons has been built. A permanent water supply from Songtao Reservoir is under construction, which will supply 500,000 tonnes per day -more than enough to meet the needs of the zone and the surrounding district .The first stage of the RMB390million project, with a designed capacity of 200,000tonnes,has been completed. The water works has also put into operation.

Power supply

　　 A 448,000 KW power plant has been built in Yangpu and connected to Hainan electricity network. It can fully meet the needs of the whole zone.





Other infrastructure
　　The developer has also built 45km of concrete road and the accompanying drainage system, an 11.4km boarder fence and 18 sq km of land leveling.
